Post Matric Scholarship
The Post-matric scholarship provides financial assistance to students from eligible minority communities who wish to continue their education after matriculation.
The minority communities covered under the scheme include Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrian (Parsee) communities.
The scheme is administered through the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) and aims to provide financial assistance to economically weaker sections for higher education, from Class 11th through higher levels of study.

Eligibility for Attaining the Scholarship
- Only students belonging to the specified minority communities are eligible for the scholarship.
- Students studying in Class 11th, Class 12th, graduation, post-graduation, M.Phil, Ph.D. and eligible technical or vocational courses can apply.
- Students must have secured a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in their previous examination.
- The annual family income must be below ₹2 lakh, including income from all sources.
Benefits for Eligible Candidates
- Students of Class 11th or Class 12th can receive ₹7,000 per annum towards admission and tuition fees.
- Students pursuing technical and vocational courses at Class 11th or Class 12th level can receive ₹10,000 per annum towards admission and tuition fees.
- Students pursuing graduation or post-graduation can receive ₹3,000 per annum towards admission and tuition fees.
Maintenance Allowance
Maintenance allowance is provided for a period of 10 months to eligible candidates. The amounts described in the original scheme information are:
- For Class 11th and Class 12th, including technical/vocational courses: ₹380 per month for hostellers and ₹230 per month for day scholars.
- For graduation and post-graduation: ₹570 per month for hostellers and ₹300 per month for day scholars.
- For M.Phil and Ph.D.: ₹1,200 per month for hostellers and ₹550 per month for day scholars.
How to Apply
- Visit the National Scholarship Portal.
- Go to the registration section and select New User? Register.
- Enter the required details, including scholarship scheme, name, date of birth, mobile number, gender and email address.
- Provide your bank details, including bank name, IFSC code and account number.
- Verify your mobile number using the OTP sent to your registered number.
- After successful registration, your application ID and password will be generated.
Documents Required
- Student's photograph.
- Domicile certificate.
- Self-declaration certificate of the minority community.
- Self-attested copy of previous educational qualification.
- Current course fee receipt mentioning admission, tuition and hostel fees, if applicable.
- Scanned copy of Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar enrolment ID.
- Income certificate issued by the concerned authority.
- Proof of the student's bank account or a joint account with father/mother, such as the front page of the passbook.
